Our certified Maryland instructors teach the complete 12-hour Initial Security Guard Training Program required for new applicants. This course meets all 17 state-mandated objectives and provides everything you need to begin your career as a licensed Maryland Security Guard.

Course Overview

The Initial Security Guard Training Program takes place over two days and covers the full state curriculum. There is no live shooting required for this class.

Students must complete Part 1 before taking Part 2 and register for both sessions.

Schedule:
Part 1: Mondays, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Part 2: Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Cost: $260 (covers both days)
Fingerprinting: LiveScan available on-site for $75

Requirements:
Students must complete Part 1 before Part 2 and register for both sessions. Casual attire is appropriate. Please bring your Maryland Driver’s License or Maryland Identification Card, and arrive 15 minutes early.
Those who arrive more than five minutes late will need to reschedule.

Training Details:
This class provides training for Security Guard Certification (unarmed) only and does not qualify participants for armed security.

To be eligible for armed security, you must complete the Maryland Handgun Carry Permit (CCW) course and obtain your Maryland Handgun Carry Permit License, in addition to completing the Security Guard Course.
There is no requirement regarding the order in which the courses are taken, as long as both courses are completed and you obtain your Maryland Handgun Carry Permit License and Security Guard Certification.
